Stage 9 Rebuild Update

Significant progress was made today rebuilding Stage 9. The work crew built a header beam which consisted of three sixteen-foot long 2×12 boards glued and screwed together, then bolted the header to the steel brackets near the top of the left and right-side supporting posts. Once the header beam was constructed and attached, the crew dug three holes along the front of the stage then sank the left, center, and right support posts, securing them with cement.

The next step will be to erect a three-foot (or so) center wall running along and up from the center of the header beam, then construct a roof over the front and rear portions of the stage. We’ll probably have to replace three of the existing posts on the stage front still standing as we plan to raise the height of the front roof.

Stop by at the May 21 monthly match and check out our progress. This will be a nice addition to the range.

Also, don’t forget we’re hosting a New Shooter Introductory Course at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13. If you’re around come on out. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.

Also, it wouldn’t be a post if we didn’t mention the Illinois State Championship. Get your registrations in if you haven’t done so already.
