Monthly Match Update: Illowa Irregulars are hosting our first match of the season this Sunday, May 21st. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., with a Safety Meeting at 9:15 a.m. Round count is 60 Pistol, 60 Rifle, and 26 Shotgun. The weather looks to be near perfect, beginning with temps in the upper 50’s ending in the mid-70’s. The St. Jude’s ladies will be serving hamburgers and brats again. Club Record: We will be shooting the State Record Stage to establish our first set of Illowa Irregular Club Records (Stage 1). We will also be giving out Club Record pins to everyone setting a club record in their category.
Saturday Setup: Setup for the match is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20. We have to set up all steel target stands, pistol, rifle, and shotgun targets, paint all the targets, place shotgun ropes and tie-off hangers, sweep/blow the decks, perhaps trim here and there, place wash tables and water. Let me put it this way – the more the merrier! All help is appreciated.
Stage 9 Rebuild Update: We are making progress and are on schedule rebuilding Stage 9. As you can see in the image below the façade is framed and the rafters in place. Next step is to anchor the rafters then place screw the plywood in place creating a roof, and build the short wall atop the structure.
