Request to Support a Fellow Cowboy Club in Need

Hello fellow Cowboys and Cowgirls;

Below is an opportunity to help a fellow club that was destroyed by a Hurricane last year. We have been very fortunate that nothing has destroyed or damaged our beautiful club. I can only imagine how difficult it is for them to re-build. If you wish to participate in their fund raiser all the info is attached.

The Louisiana club is holding a 10 gun fund raiser and has asked us if we would be willing to participate. Lets show them that Illiowa Irregulars embodies the cowboy spirit and are willing to help out. I have no skin in the game, but certainly can empathize, knowing what it takes to re-build a stage. I can’t imagine re-building an entire range. So, if you can, buy a couple of chances. Who knows, you might win a really cool gun. Thanks in advance for your support of another cowboy club.

P.S. If you do participate by email, be sure to let them know that Illowa Irregulars’ sends their support. Also, please consider forwarding this message to, and, liking it on, your social media outlets.

Dear SASS Club Contact,

Would you please forward this message to your club members?

Many thanks,

Howdy Folks,

I asked your club’s SASS Contact to forward this message to you. Our cowboy town in Lake Charles, Louisiana was destroyed by Hurricane Laura more than a year ago and we are still in the process of building a new town. I’ve included a link to a 3 minute 42 second youtube video that will show you what our town looked like the first time I went to see what might be left of it after the hurricane. As you can see, there wasn’t much left.

We’ve been fundraising for almost a year now (you may have seen many of my posts about our fundraisers, including this one, on the SASS Wire) while simultaneously rebuilding, and although we’ve made good progress with our rebuild, we need more funds to continue. Our current fundraiser is a 10-gun raffle. Tickets are $10 each and the drawing will be held on December 4, 2021 in Orange Texas at our neighboring club, the Orange County Regulators. We had 2,000 tickets printed and at this time we’ve sold less than 1,000 of them. The way the raffle works is like this – 10 ticket stubs will be drawn and consecutively numbered as they are drawn. You do not have to be present to win. The holder of the first drawn ticket will be phoned and they will get their pick from among all 10 of the guns. Once that person’s choice has been established, the holder of the second drawn ticket will be called and they will get to choose from among the 9 remaining guns, and so on down the line until the remaining gun goes to the holder of the 10th ticket drawn. The drawing will be videoed and put on the SASS Wire for all to see. And yes, it is possible for you to win more than one gun if more than one of your tickets are drawn. We will ship guns from our FFL to the winner’s FFL at our expense.

Here’s a list of those 10 guns, followed by photos (clicking on the photos should enlarge them), and below the pictures I’ll tell you how you can order tickets:

· Marlin 1894C (JM) 357 w/ Action Job

· Marlin 1894CS 357 (NIB) w/ engraving by Aspen Filly

· Marlin 1895CB (JM) 45-70 w/ engraving by Aspen Filly

· Henry 22 Golden Boy Texas Tribute Edition (NIB)

· Henry 22 Silver Series American Eagle Edition (NIB)

· Stoeger 12 Gauge Coach Gun (NIB) w/ Engraving by Aspen Filly

· Stoeger 20 Gauge Uplander (NIB)

To order tickets, please send a check made out to UP THE CREEK GANG for the amount that equals the number of tickets you wish to buy at $10 per ticket to: Up the Creek Gang, 528 Jefferson Dr., Lake Charles, LA 70605. Make sure to include your Alias, telephone number, and email address. We will fill out your ticket stubs and enter them in the drawing. Let us know if you would like us to either email you a photo of your filled-out ticket stubs or mail you the long parts of the tickets or both – we’ll be glad to do that. The deadline for receipt of ticket orders is Friday, December 3, the day before the drawing.

Questions? Just send me an email and I’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Thanks in advance for helping us get back on our feet and best of luck in the raffle!
